Being back in Greece is very much a breath of fresh air. Spending time walking along the water, exploring the many churches and enjoying the city.

The former Presidential palace provides both a mix of styles and some opulent moments. Bucharest has its own Arc de Triomphe.

Back on the Buda side to visit St Stephen’s Hall one of the opulent rooms restored after being bombed out in WWII, then being converted to more utilitarian spaces during communism. Over the last few decades Hungary has worked to restore the castle and its many past treasures.

Though Bari is often a city that people travel through more than a destination, the city makes for a good few days of exploring. I managed to stumble across a protest (a very festive one) of farmers in the area unhappy with European agriculture policy.

While Lille isn’t the biggest of cities, it sits within the larger European Metropolis of Lille with a regional population between 1.5-2 million.
