Rome

It feels great to be back in Rome, though it’s always busy with tourists there is also never a shortage of places to wander and explore. Warning – it’s gonna be churches and more churches.

Santa Maria della Vittoria having smaller crowds over the last few years and I wonder if they curse Dan Brown for putting it in his novel Angels and Demons. Regardless it’s a great chance to admire Bernini’s ‘The Ecstasy of Teresa’

Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, was a random walk by and pop in…you could easily turn a city bus around inside.

San Silvestro al Quirinale was another walk by up two flights of stairs. I had this one all to myself.

Santi Dodici Apostoli (Church of the Twelve Holy Apostles) – that’s right, strolling by – It’s the best motto for Rome – see a church that’s open? Pop in. You’ll find a few that are less interesting but you can be rewarded more often than not.
