My last full day in Budapest so it was a chance to see St. Stephen’s Basilica.

I also had the chance to take in a production of Swan Lake at the beautiful State Opera House.

Just a stone’s throw from my apartment is the famous ruin bars. Initially created in buildings that were slated to be torn down, they were furnished cheaply and nobody worried too much about keeping the walls free of graffiti. Turns out they wrecked so popular they ended up buying the building and now continue to be one of Budapest’s hottest attractions. After dark they get jammed to the rafters until deep into the night.

It’s been a great visit to Budapest – next up: Bulgaria
